The world is a strange place this week

First and foremost, I like so many others am deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Jack Layton, Leader of the Opposition in Ottawa.  Although I will readily admit I am not a fan of Mr. Layton’s political views, I have always admired him as a politician and his conviction to issues.  He is going to be missed.

Second, for Goderich — Sue and I have a cottage about 20 minutes north of Goderich and have spent a lot of time in that community.  I have seen the pictures of the devasation left by the tornado and my heart goes out to the members of that community.

Finally, am now home after having been away for about 5 days, fulfilling roles in Rotary and as Councillor.  We have a great town and I always enjoy coming home 🙂
