2018 — the year of change?

As most are aware, I have been honoured to be an elected Councillor in the Town of Lincoln for close to 18 years.  And, wow, it has been an amazing journey.

I have had the opportunity to work with three very different Mayors — Ray Konkle, Bill Hodgson, and Sandra Easton.  Each had/has their areas of strength and all have, in their own way, been good leaders for our Municipality.

Lincoln is on a phenomenal path — we have solid leadership at the senior and CAO level, we have a Council that really has its act together, we have a business community that is investing in our municipality, and we have exciting projects that are coming up that will really put our Town on the map.

On a personal level, I have been debating on a 2018 political change.  Of course, much will depend on what Bill Hodgson decides to do, but I am thinking if running for Niagara Region as Lincoln’s Councillor, should the opportunity presents itself.

Niagara Region requires change.  It requires a move away from the crazy political drama.  It requires focus.  It requires Councillors who understand their role.  And it requires a collaborative approach with Muncipalities to make Niagara the best that it can be.

More to come in the new year.

Season’s Greetings 🙂
